Landscape Horticulture: Soil, Trees, Worms, and Flowers

"Seasons change and so do I"
Okay, so that may be a tired old lyric from a classic rock song, yet it serves to begin the discussion.

One of the many considerations when we choose plants is whether it has multiple seasons of interest - perhaps showy flowers in spring, interesting foliage during the summer, exceptional fall color or ornamental fruit, winter interest in structure or bark patterns.

Nom, nom, nom...
Another critical consideration of ours is any given plant's resistance to deer.

Unless their yard is completely fenced-in, most of our customers live in areas with a significant risk of substantial damage from deer.   Our focus is to find and install plants that minimize that risk while still providing a beautiful and interesting landscape.
Plants are people, too.
No not really, but that got your attention, didn't it?

We install plants though we personally don't think of them as an "installation" - a static unchanging fixture.  Plants in

the landscape live and breath and grow like all living things, but with a critical difference: they can't seek out a more favorable place to live - more fertile soil, more food, water, sunlight.

Our job is to not only pick the optimum plant selections for your landscape, but also to provide those plants with optimum growing conditions.
